Goodness has to do with what I am, including my motives. Faithfulness has to do with what I do, assuming that my motives are right.
I was pleasantly surprised and convicted by this little book on faithfulness. In acting out on what you believe you develop faithfulness over time. Faithfulness is being accountable to your responsibilities to what you have been given in materials and most important with your relationships. It also discusses what it takes to be faithful and what can hinder us from being unfaithful.
Faithfulness means you are trustworthy and dependable. It is building these traits that take time and being intentional. The opposite of faithfulness is laziness. Many things cause laziness which getting to the root is important to nip it in the bud. I was encouraged that if you have failed in being faithful, you can go back and rebuild that faithfulness. So instead of being discouraged, you can build your courage to being faithful.
Being faithful is worthy of taking a second look of what it really means and what it does not mean. How we can develop faithfulness and how we can lack.
