It is this kind of vision that Advent encourages us to recapture, so that in our waiting we might begin to see the world through the eyes of God.
A journey through the gospel of the Luke and the person of Luke gives us a different perspective of the Gospel. We are introduced to who Luke was writing to and why. History names the name of Theosphilus which means a lover of God. Which I find that information insightful because of the significance of the meaning. In the season of Advent and Lent, we are made more aware of what God has done and why. It is a resource for the liturgical year that is for reflection, prayer and reaction.
It is a time to reflect our priority for God and how we succumb to our physical desires and emotional needs. Where we learn to depend on God that we do not want for nothing else. It keeps us from envy and relying others to meet the needs that they cannot meet.
From Advent to Lent, we are given a resource to reflect who God thru the journey of Luke.
A Special Thank you to Westminster John Knox Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
