My rating: 4 of 5 stars

“You are terrified only of being exposed of your crimes, and punished. That is all. “This is not true! In my heart, I am not that way at all.”

Jack of Spades is the alter ego of Andrew J. Rush author, husband and father. But do any of those closest to him know him at all. It is said that authors get in the head of their characters but it seems that Andrew does not know where he begins and his alter ego ends. Jack of Spades is a phantom name that Andrew uses along with his real name to enter into another genre of books. What you may call the darker end. He prefers to keep his alter ego private even from his own family. What is he hiding behind his alter ego?

When Andrew receives a summons from C.W. Haider accusing him of plagiarism, Andrew begins stalking the elderly lady that is out to destroy him.

A captivating and thrilling read as you discover what really goes on with some of our favorite authors.

A special thank you to Grove Atlantic, Mysterious Press and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.
